FJORD is a 501(c)(3) non-profit artist-run collective that elevates the visibility of both emerging and established artists within Philadelphia and beyond by facilitating exhibitions, curatorial projects, collaborations and public programing that highlight diverse media and artistic concerns.

Natessa Amin

Natessa Amin (born, 1987) earned her BFA in Painting from Boston University and MFA from the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently the Visiting Studio Artist at Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA. Amin has exhibited her work most recently in a solo exhibition at the Berman Museum of Art at Ursinus College, and prior to that at Hangar H18 Gallery, Brussels; Trestle Gallery, Brooklyn; and at the Fabric Workshop and Museum, Woodmere Art Museum, Gallery 128 at PAFA, Tiger Strikes Asteroid, and Ice Box Project Space in Philadelphia. Amin has been an artist in residence at the Fabric Workshop and Museum (2016) and Wassaic Projects (2017).

Charlotte G. Chin Greene

Charlotte G. Chin Greene is an artist based between Philadelphia and New York. Their practice probes the scope and infrastructure of the human and non-human in the digital age, merging digital tools with body-driven approaches in found object, drawing, video, installation, and performance. Greene earned their MFA in Sculpture from Tyler School of Art and Architecture and BA in Art History from Kenyon College.

They have exhibited at Zach's Crab Shack, Spencer Brownstone Gallery, Tiger Strikes Asteroid (NYC), Wick Gallery, Bible, Miranda Kuo Gallery and Disclaimer Gallery. Writing about their work has been published in Artforum and The Brooklyn Rail. Greene has lectured at University of Nebraska - Lincoln, Temple University, and Princeton University.

Anna Guarneri

Anna Guarneri is a multidisciplinary artist based in Philadelphia. Originally from Oakland, California, Guarneri studied cultural history at the University of Pennsylvania and pursued a career in nonprofit administration before turning to visual art.

Since 2020, Guarneri has exhibited and curated at venues such as the Delaware Contemporary, Mesa Contemporary Art Museum, FJORD, InLiquid, the Center for Emerging Visual Artists, and All Street Gallery. She is the recipient of the Whitney scholarship from the American Glass Guild, the Canopy Program’s James Bernard Haggarty scholarship, and a fellowship from Paradice Palase.  She has been an artist-in-residence at Bischoff Inn in Tamaqua, PA, and ChaNorth in Pine Plains, NY.Instagram: @anna.guarneri

Alexandria Nazar

Alexandria Nazar is a painter and curator in Philadelphia. She received her MFA Painting and Drawing from the Tyler School of Art and Architecture, her BA in Fines Arts and History from UC Davis.

She was co-curator for the show Testing Grounds at the Cherry Street Pier in Philadelphia, PA. She has previously shown her work at the Temple Contemporary in Philadelphia, PA, Information Space in Philadelphia, PA, the Dorchester Art Project in Boston, MA, Fowler-Kellogg Art Center in Chautauqua, NY, Onkel Olga’s Atelier Odense, Denmark and Gæsteatelier Hollufgård in Odense, Denmark. She has also attended residencies at the Pine Meadows Artist Residency, the Elizabeth Murray Artist Residency, MASS MOCA in North Adams, MA and the Chautauqua School of Art in Chautauqua, NY.

Brice Peterson

Brice Peterson is an artist and librarian based in Philadelphia whose work examines the limits of nostalgia and fandom as methods of queer identification with mass culture.

He holds a BA from Brown University, where he received the Ann Belsky-Moranis Award in Visual Art; an MLIS from Drexel University; and an MFA from Cornell University, where he received the Charles Baskerville Painting award. Recent exhibitions include: The Way of Perfection, Nugent Gallery, Rosemont PA; Catch and Release (with Zach Hill), Peep Projects, Philadelphia; Idol Worship, Smack Mellon, Brooklyn; and Miami is Nice, Spacecamp, Baltimore.

Brice has also been an artist-in-residence at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village, CO and the Wassaic Project in Wassaic, NY; an apprentice at the Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia; and a visiting artist at Brown University and Moore College of Art & Design.

Amira Pualwan

Amira Pualwan (b. 1991) is an artist and educator living and working in Philadelphia, PA. She received an MFA in Printmaking from the Tyler School of Art and Architecture at Temple University, and a BA in Studio Art from Wheaton College (MA).

Pualwan has completed residencies at Highpoint Center for Printmaking, the Minnesota Center for Book Arts and the Women's Studio Workshop Beisinghoff Residency. She currently is an adjunct professor of printmaking at the Tyler School of Art and Architecture. Recently, Pualwan's work has been included in group exhibitions at Automat in Philadelphia, and Wassaic Project in Amenia, NY.

Sean M. Starowitz

Sean M. Starowitz has worked in a variety of community-based contexts, spanning more than a decade of socially engaged art practice.  He uses archival research and public memory as material to reframe our current understanding of natural history and political imaginaries.

Starowitz served as the Assistant Director of the Arts for the City of Bloomington, IN, during this time, he directed the 1% for the Arts program and managed cultural grants on behalf of the City. Prior to his work in local government,  he was the artist-in-residence at the Farm To Market Bread Company in Kansas City and is a graduate of the Interdisciplinary Arts program at the Kansas City Art Institute.

In 2023, Starowitz received his MFA in Sculpture from the Tyler School of Art and Architecture. His recent residencies include the Vermont Studio Center and the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, where he has continued to develop his sculptural and drawing practice. He currently lives and works in Philadelphia, PA.

Todd Stong

Todd Stong (b. 1991, Trenton, NJ) is an artist and writer based in Philadelphia, PA. He received a BA in Visual and Literary Arts from Brown University in 2014 and an MFA in Printmaking from the Tyler School of Art and Temple Rome in 2022.

He has been an artist-in-residence at the Vermont Studio Center, the Virginia Center for Creative Arts, and the Art Students League of New York, as well as an Apprentice at the Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia. Group and two-person exhibitions include spaces such as Trestle Gallery, New York, NY; Zach's Crab Shack, Philadelphia, PA;  Commonweal Gallery, Philadelphia, PA; Galerie im Körnerpark, Berlin, DE; SPRING/BREAK Art Fair, New York, NY; and Practice Gallery, Philadelphia, PA.

He is a contributor to Title Magazine, a Philly-focused online publication, an adjunct professor of printmaking and design at West Chester University of Pennsylvania, and a 2023 Fellow at both the Lighthouse Works and Yaddo.
